Biography:
N. Thompson Hobbs is Professor, Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory and Graduate Degree Program in Ecology, and is a Senior Research Scientist at the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory at Colorado State University. His work focuses on understanding reciprocal relationships between large herbivores and ecosystems. Current projects include studies of dynamics of chronic wasting disease in populations of mule deer, effects of fragmentation on arid land grazing systems worldwide, and the role of pastoralists in shaping the distribution of wildlife in East African grasslands. Hobbs is an Aldo Leopold Leadership Fellow and has won numerous awards for his work including the Distinguished Service Award from the Society for Conservation Biology.
