The GEFSOC modeling system has been released under an open source license. The aim of open source software is that users may delve into the system and software and offer suggestions for improvements, write improvements of their own, share questions and tips, without depending upon a single user or small group of users to implement improvements. There are two email lists, also called "listservs", to which interested parties may subscribe in order to share information: General Announcements: This email list provides announcements to users of the GEFSOC system, regarding updates, bug fixes, and general announcements pertaining to related topics. Traffic is expected to be on the order of one to four announcements per month. Any person can join the listserv. The address is GEFSOC_ANNOUNCE-L@colostate.edu. To join the list, do one of the following: - Go to the following web page and select "GEFSOC_ANNOUNCE-L" from the list of available mailing lists: http://www.acns.colostate.edu/?page=frame&src=http%3a%2f%2fwww.colostate.edu%2fServices%2fACNS%2flistserv%2fsubother.html - Or, you can send an email to listproc@colostate.edu with the words "subscribe GEFSOC_ANNOUNCE-L" in the first line in the email, and no words in the subject line (leave the subject line completely blank) This list is moderated, which means that postings to the list must be approved by a single moderator. Postings of general interest to interested GEFSOC parties will be accepted. GEFSOC Users: This email list is intended to be a discussion list for users of the GEFSOC system. Users may share tips, improvements, describe software bugs, ask questions, etc. All subscribers are urged to contribute to discussions shared in the list. The amount of email traffic will be dependent upon the degree of interest. Any person can join the listserv. The address is GEFSOC_USERS-L@colostate.edu.
