Colorado Front Range GK-12 : connecting kids & ecology

What is GK-12?

Colorado Front Range GK12 brings research on human impacts on ecosystems along the Front Range into K-12 classrooms.

GK12 graduate fellows, K-12 teachers, and university science and mathematics faculty collaborate to provide students with authentic science experiences. Teachers and fellows use inquiry-based methods, which are tied to state standards, to guide students through real-world research projects. Students are actively engaged in the scientific process during in-class projects, data collection in the schoolyard, and field trips to local ecological research sites.
