Site Description

The Bogd Khaan Mountain National Park is a protected area.

Site Location

The Bogd Khaan Mountain National Park is 40 km south of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city.

Site Area

Dr. Baatar is participating in two sites for GLIDE, referred to as site 1a and site 1b. Both sites have a total area of 1 ha each.

Site Elevation

Site elevation is 1500m.

Annual Rainfall

Annual rainfall is 300 mm.

Annual Temperature

Annual temperature is 0.2°C.

Soil

Soil type for site 1a is chernozem soil, and site 1b has forest dark colored soil.

Native Forest/Vegetation Types

Native vegetation types are grassland and forest for pasture.

Principal Biome/Ecoregion

Principal biome is forest-steppe.
