On-line registration is now closed, however, you can register on-site at the conference location, Cheyenne Mountain Resort.

We recommend that you carefully read all the information below, in addition to visiting all pages of this website to explore all available options, before completing your registration for the Symposium. Once you have read this information, please click on the registration button which will take you to the Online Registration Form.


Please note that all persons attending the Symposium must register.

Registration Fee (per person)

Regular participant: $450
*Student: $375
ON-LINE REGISTRATION WILL BE CLOSED ON JUNE 29 AT 5:00 PM. THOSE WHO WISH TO REGISTER AFTER THAT DATE MUST DO SO ON-SITE AT THE CONFERENCE VENUE FOR A REGISTRATION RATE OF $500.


* Proof of student status required. A student is defined as a holder of a student identification card from a recognized institution of higher education or international student card. Students must be currently studying full time to qualify for the discounted rate. A copy of your student identification card or a letter from your major advisor is required at the time you submit your registration form (e-mail to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The registration fee entitles Full Conference Participants, staying at Cheyenne Mountain Resort, to the following (in addition to all amenities included with room rates):

Access to all Sessions

All official documentation including program booklet, electronic copy of abstracts and list of participants

Welcome BBQ with special entertainment on Monday, July 6

Conference Dinner on Wednesday, July 8

Lunch

Continuous coffee breaks with food and beverage

All taxes and gratuities


Day Conference Only

For participants wishing to attend the conference for only one or two days (not the full conference) and do not wish to reserve a room with Cheyenne Mountain Resort, the registration fee is $150 per day. The registration fee entitles all Day Conference Only Participants (those not staying at Cheyenne Mountain Resort) to the following:

  • Access to all Sessions (on selected day[s])
  • All official documentation including program booklet, electronic copy of abstracts and list of participants
  • Continuous coffee breaks with food and beverage
  • Lunch  (on selected day[s])
  • All taxes and gratuities

If the Day Conference Only Participant would like to attend either of the special dinners, a fee of $40 per dinner will be charged, (plus taxes and gratuities).

Entrance to Symposium events
Each participant will receive a name badge upon registration at the resort. This badge will be your official pass and must be worn to obtain entry to all sessions and to be included in all social functions.

Cancellation Fees:
  • After June 12, 2009, a cancellation fee of $100 will be charged.
  • After June 30, 2009, there will be no refund.

Field trip Fee: $20 (more info available on field trip link)
  • Payments are non-refundable after June 30.

Participants traveling to the US from a foreign country are advised to view the travel link on our website (http://www.nrel.colostate.edu/travel.html).

Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is recommended that at the time you register for the Symposium and book your travel that you take out an insurance policy of your choice. A health insurance policy should cover any costs incurred due to medical expenses (including coverage for illness and/or injury due to an accident). The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Symposium, or through cancellation thereof, loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason, loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes, failure to utilize tours or pre-booked arrangements due to airline delay, loss or damage to personal property, and any additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Symposium administrators cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. Insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.
