How to apply

Apply now for SSI 2022, June 8-15!

Applications can be submitted from December 1 – March 18, 2022. Admission decisions will be made on a rolling basis.

SSI is held at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. The course is intended for graduate students, postdoctoral scientists, faculty or other professionals looking to gain a deeper understanding of soil science.

Tuition costs are $2,750 for students, $3,500 for non-students, and $5,000 for corporate participants. Lodging accommodations can be arranged through SSI, but this is not required if participants would rather make their own arrangements.

To Apply follow the steps below:

1.  Complete the online application form: Create Application *
* Your application must be completed prior to uploading documents.

2.  Submit the required documents via the upload page: Upload Documents

A.  Submitted by applicant

a.  Curriculum Vitae (2-page max)
b.  Statement of interest (1-page max)

B.  Submitted by reference

a.  Letter of reference (1 required)

C.  Submit scholarship application (optional, 1-page max).   A limited number of scholarships are available to meritorious applicants that need financial support. Scholarships will provide
partial support for tuition, but cannot be used to support lodging costs. To apply, submit a document that includes

a.   A statement that justifies the need for support.
b.   A description of the envisaged benefit to future career.

Note to applicants and those providing reference letters: To include required and optional documents please click on the ‘Upload Documents’ link. You will then be asked to input the email address of an applicant that has already finished their on-line application (see above). If the email address is found you will then be able to upload files for this person. Applicants will not be able to see documents submitted on their behalf. The submitted documents should be in pdf format.  Applicants will receive an email confirmation of any uploaded documents.
