One part poet, One part nerd, Two parts biologist…

The students of the Graduate Degree Program in Ecology (GDPE) recently hosted the 20th annual Front Range Student Ecology Symposium (FRSES) at the Lory Student Center.  The Wednesday lunch session included a series of IGNITE talks from GDPE faculty and researchers.  An IGNITE talk is guided by the slogan, “Enlighten us, but make it quick.”  The presentation is designed to last exactly 5 minutes and contain 20 slides, with each slide progressing automatically.  The IGNITE session had four presenters, including two from NREL: Dr. Ed Hall and Dr. Claudia Boot.  We are lucky to have received a recording Ed’s talk, a wonderfully rhythmic, poetic ode to microbial ecology; check it out here if the video below is not working.  What did you think of the presentation?  Let us know in the comments section!
